Gavi, a global vaccine alliance, brings together entities from both public and private sectors.
"It is a very proud moment for India that WHO has chosen India as the focus country to tackle the pervasive issue of unsafe injection practices," HMD joint director Rajiv Nath said in a statement.
According to the statement, World Health Organisation (WHO) has started a global campaign for safe injection practice.
The initiative is aimed at advocating the use of auto-disable syringes to prevent spread of diseases.
