The Haryana state unit of HMS, which organised a rally here today against the industrial "unrest" at the Manesar plant and "illegal lockout" at Eastern Medikit in Gurgaon, threatened that the workers' unrest in these units could go out of hand if the government fails to intervene.
HMS general secretary Harbhajan Singh Sidhu alleged that the management at the Manesar plant is "engaged in unchecked violation of labour laws and victimisation of employees".
Referring to Eastern Medikit, he said that despite the government prohibiting lockout, the management has stopped production from May 18 onwards.
"HMS demands a high-level judicial enquiry in Manesar incident and also demands immediate start of production in Eastern Medikit," he said.
Earlier, a top Maruti Suzuki India official said production at its Manesar plant, which faced labour troubles recently, will return to normal by the middle of this month.
The company has been gradually ramping up production at the plant, which had been locked out for a month following the July 18 violence in which one senior official was killed.
