People today were evacuated from a mall in south Delhi's posh Vasant Kunj area following a bomb threat call from anonymous source, police said.
Ambience Mall was emptied for a search operation after a call was received at its reception at around 3:30 PM that said a bomb had been planted in its premises.
"Several police teams, bomb disposal and dog squads rushed to the spot and searched the entire premises after leading people out of the mall. Nothing suspicious was found anywhere and the call turned out to be a hoax," said a senior police official.
"I was watching a 3:30 PM movie show at PVR with my family. Five minutes into the movie we were asked to clear the building. Later, we came to know about a bomb threat call which turned out to be a hoax," said a witness, Prashant Solomon.
Police have launched a manhunt to trace the person who made the threat call. According to police, the caller, who was a male, said, "Bomb will explode in the mall."
There was no caller ID service on the landline phone, police said.
