Homage paid to Vajpayee at Maharashtra secretariat

Homage was paid to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at a meeting organised by the Maharashtra government at Mantralaya, the state secretariat, here this evening.

Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, Transport Minister Diwakar Raote, Minister of State for Home Deepak Kesarkar, Mumbai South Lok Sabha member Arvind Sawant, BJP MLAs Parag Alavni, Manisha Chaudhary, MLC Niranjan Davkhare, Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi, Congress MLA Amin Patel, and state police chief Datta Padsalgikar were present at the meeting.

Consul generals of various countries and senior bureaucrats of Maharashtra government also attended the 'Shraddhanjali' (homage) meet.

Vajpayee, 93, died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi last evening after a prolonged illness.
