A group of around 40 armed Maoists yesterday barged into the residence of home guard Narayan Suna (46) at Majhipalli village in Paikamal area, about 10 km from here, and dragged him out of his house even as his family members, including old mother, screamed for help, police said today.
The ultras then shot him on chest and pierced their bayonet in the body, killing him on the spot, they said.
Before leaving the village, the ultras shouted anti- establishment slogans and left posters which stated that they were observing 'Black Week' in view of the Independence Day. They also demanded halt of combing operation against the ultras.
