Home Minister Rajnath Singh today reviewed the working of central paramilitary forces like CRPF, CISF, ITBP and BSF.
Officials said Singh was given a presentation on the overall functioning and tasks being rendered by the forces which are primarily deployed for duties like conducting anti-Naxal operations, guarding India's borders and aiding state police forces in maintaining law and order.
The review was done for forces like the Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Central Industrial Security Force, Border Security Force, Sashastra Seema Bal and the National Security Guard.
"The Home Minister was briefed about the evolution of these forces and their current tasks. He is also expected to sit for detailed presentations on these forces by visiting their headquarters separately," a senior official said.
An official statement issued after the meeting said Singh praised the work done by the force personnel and officers.
"I salute my jawans who are doing outstanding work," he said as he lauded the recent action done by ITBP jawans posted in Heart in Afghanistan where they repulsed an audacious attack on the Indian Consulate.
Singh, during the meeting, also asked the chiefs of these forces to inform him about the major requirements they have in terms of gadgets and other logistical necessities, the official said.
