The fourth generation mid-sized sedan City, which was launched in January this year, has received good response from the market and currently has a waiting period of up to three months. Since its launch, the company has sold around 60,000 units of the vehicle so far.
"From November we are going to start second shift at the Tapukara plant. It will help us reduce the waiting period of the City which currently stands at around two-and-half to three months," Honda Cars India Ltd Senior Vice-President (Marketing & Sales) Jnaneswar Sen told PTI.
"This would help us gradually ramp up the production to around 10,000 units per month," Sen said.
Sen further said: "The company continues to witness great demand for the car with the model currently commanding a market share of 49 per cent in the mid-sized sedan segment."
