Hooda administered the oath of office to the newly appointed chairman of the Right to Service Commission (RTSC), S C Chaudhary, who retired as Chief Secretary yesterday and its member, General (Retd), Virender Singh Tonk.
A controversy had erupted earlier over Hooda administering the oath of office to new members of State Information Commission and the Commissioners of Right to Service Commission, with the Opposition then terming the move as "unconstitutional".
Talking to reporters, the chief minister said the Commission had not been constituted in a hurry and that all members had been appointed in keeping with the Constitution.
Outgoing Governor Jagan Nath Pahadia had during his last few days in office cleared the appointment of three members of State Information Commission (SIC) and two of Right to Service Commission (RTSC) and also authorised the chief minister to administer the oath to the five members.
Even as BJP nominee Kaptan Singh Solanki took oath as new Governor of Haryana on July 28, the Chief Minister went ahead and administered the oath of office to two as Commissioners of the SIC and three others as the Right to Service Commission.
