He was replying to a question raised by reporters regarding illegal activities being carried out by 'Apna Ghar' Society, run by an NGO from Srinagar Colony in Rohtak.
"The district police are investigating the matter and the culprits will be punished as per law," he said.
Nintyfour children, mostly girls, were rescued from shelter homes in this district run by an NGO, where some of the inmates were allegedly sexually abused, and its owner and her son-in-law arrested.
Following a complaint by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Jaswanti Devi, operator of the NGO Bharat Vikas Sangh that runs child and women protection houses at Sri Nagar locality in the city, and her son-in-law Jai Bhagwan were arrested.
Both the accused were sent to police remand upto May 13 by a court here yesterday.
Jaswanti and Jai Bhagwan were slapped with charges of rape, molestation, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation under the IPC, Immoral Trafficking Act, Child Protection Act, Juvenile Justice Act and Prevention of Bonded Labour Act.
Jaswanti was in March this year honoured by the state government with Indira Gandhi Nari Shakti Purskar carrying a cash prize of one lakh and a citation.
