After launching the portal (https://bsmedia.business-standard.comemausamhau.Gov.In), Hooda said that because he belonged to a farmer family, he can very well understand the significance of weather forecast.
He directed concerned officials to get maximum number of farmers registered on the web portal so that they could be benefited with this service.
The web portal has been conceptualised at Hisar's Agricultural University (CCS HAU) with the technical support of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in Haryana, an official portal said.
Besides, the portal would also help in increasing productivity with efficient management of day-to-day farm operations, the release said.
More than 75,000 farmers in the state have so far been registered on the portal and would get free weather updates.
Farmers can register themselves on the web portal either through Internet or through Krishi Vigyan Kendras and local Agriculture Officers by submitting required details, the release said.
