Hooda slams Opposition INLD over unruly conduct in Assembly
Press Trust of India Chandigarh Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today slammed the Opposition INLD for their unruly conduct in the House, saying it has become their habit to disrupt the smooth functioning of the Assembly.
Referring to the suspension of 25 INLD MLAs today for the remainder of the Budget session for their unruly behaviour, Hooda said, "in a democratic set up, it is the responsibility of both the ruling party and the opposition to ensure smooth functioning of the House."
25 INLD MLAs were suspended by Haryana Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Sharma for the rest of the ongoing Budget session for creating unruly scenes in the House over alleged cash-for-land use licence scam.
"The Speaker gave several opportunities to the Opposition to debate on important Call Attention Notice regarding Health, but they did not read it out. There were many important issues which were to be discussed in House including the Governor's Address. However, due to the disruption by the Opposition, the session had to be adjourned twice," he said.
On being asked to comment on the Lokayukta report in the alleged cash-for-land use licence scandal, Hooda said the state government had referred back the matter to the Lokayukta for review.
"Now, Lokayukta has given its report and the government is examining it," he said.
On a letter written by Public Health Engineering Minister Kiran Chaudhary and her MP daughter Shruti Chaudhary to him yesterday, in which the duo had said certain persons have levelled "false" allegations raking their names in connection with a murder of a BJP leader in Bhiwani, Hooda said, they have sought justice and strict action against the culprits.
"I have directed that those found guilty in the case should not be spared and the innocent should not be implicated," he added.
