Hoshiarpur celebrates Sampla's induction in Cabinet

Hoshiarpur town burst into celebrations soon after 53-year-old Vijay Sampla, a first time MP from here, took oath as Minister of State in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first cabinet expansion today.
Jubilant BJP workers and supporters of Sampla took to the streets in the city to celebrate his inclusion in the Cabinet and burst crackers and distributed sweets among residents.
Many residents hope that Hoshiarpur district would witness good development in all the fields now as the region had allegedly remained ignored during past.
The Shalimar Nagar locality where Vijay Sampla has been residing also became a centre of hectic activity.
Supporters inluding Pooja Vashisht, Gian Bansal, Raman Ghai, Prof Manoj Kapur said Sampla would leave no stone unturned to make overall development of this backward area which was neglected by various leaders during past.
Congress MLA Sunder Sham Arora also welcomed the inclusion of Sampla in Narendra Modi's Cabinet, saying he would extend every possible help to Sampla for development of Hoshiarpur.
Elected to Lok Sabha from this reserved seat, Sampla is the second minister from Punjab, after Modi had inducted Harsimrat Kaur Badal, wife of Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, as Minister of Food Processing.
