Hospital fire tragedy panel receives 400 affidavits

The Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Central, A B Ota, who is investigating into the SUM Hospital fire tragedy, today completed receiving affidavits from people and decided to record the statements of the witnesses from November 28.
Nearly 30 patients died after the fire, following which the state government had ordered the RDC to investigate and submit its findings detailing the cause of the mishap, persons responsible for it and whether the private hospital had proper fire fighting measures in place.
Officials said the office of the RDC here has received nearly 400 affidavits and statements of at least 60 witnesses from them, including the state DMET, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) and few treating doctors would be recorded.
