Hot and humid weather prevails in Punjab, Haryana

With the mercury on the rise in the absence of rains in the region during the past three days, hot and humid conditions today prevailed at most places in Punjab and Haryana.
Chandigarh, the capital of the neighbouring agrarian states, recorded a high of 34.9 deg Celsius, Met department said here.
Amritsar in Punjab registered a high of 34.8 deg C while Ludhiana and Patiala's respective maximums settled at 35.2 deg C and 35.3 deg C respectively.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 34.2 deg C while Hisar's maximum settled at 36.5 deg C. Bhiwani's high was recorded at 36.4 deg C while Narnaul recorded a maximum of 36.2 deg C.
The MeT officials has forecast light to moderate rainfall or thunder showers may occur at isolated places in the two states over the next two days.
