Day temperatures in capital Delhi, which was clad in festive finery on the occasion of Dusshera, went up by three notches above normal and settled at 37 degree Celsius. But humidity that wavered between 37 and 85 per cent caused inconvenience to Delhiites.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 24.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal.
According to the weatherman, similar weather conditions would prevail in the next 24 hours.
In Punjab and Haryana, maximum temperatures hovered around normal level in most parts.
Union Territory of Chandigarh recorded the day's maximum at 33.5 degrees Celsius.
Hisar in Haryana had a high of 38.7 degrees C, up by four degrees above normal while Ambala and Narnaul recorded maximum of 33.4 degrees C and 35 degrees C respectively.
