The day temperature at Safdarjung observatory, considered to be the official figure for the city, was at 41.7 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.
The evening, too, was reasonably warm as the minimum rose five points above normal to settle at 32.7 degrees.
The maximum at Palam observatory was at 43.5 degrees while at Ayanagar, it was recorded at 42.4 degrees. The maximum was at 42.5 degrees in the Ridge area.
As compared to yesterday, when temperatures had soared close to the 45 degree-mark at various observatories here, there was some respite for Delhiites due to partially cloudy skies in the latter part of the day today.
"There will be partly cloudy skies tomorrow; very light rain and thunderstorms may occur in some areas of the national capital while the maximum and minimum may settle at 40 and 31 degrees, respectively," said a MeT official.
