Hot weather conditions persist in Pb & Hry; rain in Chandigarh

Hot weather conditions persisted at most places in Punjab and Haryana today but people in Chandigarh got relief after light showers lashed the Union Territory towards the evening.
Hisar was the hottest place in the two states recording a maximum of 42 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal, the MeT Department report said.
Chandigarh received light rains towards the evening and the day's maximum settled at 37.8 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar had a hot day at 39.9 degrees Celsius, up two notches against normal.
Ludhiana residents also braved a hot day at 39.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal while Patiala's maximum settled at 38.2 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the MeT Department in its weather forecast has said dust storm or thunderstorm with squall, with wind speed exceeding 45 kmph, is likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab tomorrow.
