In the national capital, a scorching sun raised the maximum temperature to 39.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal, as Delhiites braved another hot and dry day.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 38.6 degrees Celsius yesterday while it is expected to touch 40 degrees Celsius tomorrow, a MeT official said.
The minimum temperature on the day was recorded two notches below the season's average at 21.1 degrees Celsius.
The humidity ranging from a maximum of 67 per cent to 20 per cent minimum during the day was indicative of rising dryness of the season, the official added.

According to MeT officials, Barmer and Churu were the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees, followed by Ganganagar 41.9 and Bikaner 41.4 degrees Celsius.
