The Shubhashish Bhutiani-directed film, which is called "Mukti Bhawan" in Hindi, will have its UK premiere at BFI Southbank in the Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival (LIFF). The festival runs from June 22 to 29.
"Hotel Salvation" revolves around an overworked modern son forced to accompany his 77-year-old father, who is in search of salvation in Varanasi.
The film features actors such as Adil Hussain, Lalit Behl and Geetanjali Kulkarni.
It will open in late Summer in cinemas UK-wide and at BFI Southbank as a centrepiece of the BFI's India on Film season (running April - December 2017); part of UK/India 2017, a cultural celebration between the two countries in collaboration with the British Council.
Julie Pearce, head of BFI, said the film with its life- affirming story will strongly appeal to the audiences in the UK.
"He (Shubhashish Bhutiani) is part of the current new wave of fresh and exciting young Indian directors and is, without doubt, a talent to watch," Pearce added.
