The Odisha Assembly on Monday was adjourned for the day as the opposition Congress created a ruckus demanding clarity on reports that the CBI had entered the State Secretariat recently.
The issue was raised by Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra of Congress as soon as the house reassembled at 3 pm. Quoting a newspaper report, Mishra said that the central agency had entered into the state Secretariat and probed into "something".
"We want a clarification from the state government on the authenticity of the newspaper report. Whether the CBI had come to the secretariat and for what purpose. This House should know the reason behind CBI's entry into the secretariat," Mishra said.
The Congress leader also appealed the Speaker P K Amat to give a ruling to the government for making a statement on the matter in the House.
As the speaker did not issue any ruling, the Congress members led by its chief whip Taraprasad Bahinipati rushed to well of the House and demanded a clarification from the state government.
Unable to run the House, Amat adjourned it first for 30 minutes till 3.41 pm and later till Tuesday morning.

Earlier, Mishra also raised the issue of ruling BJD members allegedly "terrorising" the farmers who have been holding agitations elsewhere after being denied permission in the state capital.
Mishra said, the BJD district president of Kendrapara has been accused of threatning the farmers who are agitating in Pattamundai in a peaceful manner.
Meanwhile, the opposition BJP and Congress also came down heavily on the ruling BJD government for disrupting the proceeding of the House during the question hour in the day.
Criticising the adjournment of the House, leader of the Opposition Narasingha Mishra said the Speaker had accepted an adjournment motion proposal of the Congress to discuss the felling of trees in Jhinkaragadi forest on November 17.
But the state government, fearing a backlash, deliberately adjourned the House which had enough time to discuss the issue, Mishra said.
