Housewife allegedly burnt to death by her husband

A 36-year-old woman was allegedly set ablaze by her drunk husband today at Bhanpura village, some eight kilometres from neighbouring Agar district's headquarters, a police official said.
Dule Singh Sondhia, a resident of Bhanpura, allegedly poured kerosene on his wife Manna Bai after she refused to give her husband jewellery which he wanted to sell to buy alcohol, Agar police station inspector R K Chaturvedi told reporters.
The inspector said that Sondhia has been arrested and booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
