Howrah-bound local derails; none hurt

Two compartments of Howrah-bound Mashagram local got derailed today while approaching the terminal station causing panic among passengers.
"The second and sixth compartment of the local jumped off the tracks at around 8:40 PM at the outer point while nearing Howrah station but there was no casualty or injury," an Eastern Railway spokesman said.
There was no disruption in train services with the movement of trains diverted through other routes.
Senior officials inspected the spot to inquire into the cause of the derailment and a medical team too visited the spot.
Meanwhile, restoration work continued along the tracks.
