Besides, a PhD student of the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology Annu Verma has bagged a financial support of Rs 5 lakh, and a fellowship of Rs 30,000 per month for three years from the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, a release said
Verma will be researching cold stress tolerance in chickpea, it said.
"Ninety-one undergraduate and post graduate students of the university have qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and the Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) examinations conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)," Public Relations Officer Hirdaypoul Singh said.
Singh said 38 from Dr GCN College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (COVAS), 36 students from the College of Agriculture (COA) and two the College of Home Science have qualified the JRF examination.

Fifteen students from COA qualified for the SRF for doing PhD and nine from this institute have qualified agri- management examinations. One student has joined the Indian Army, he said.
The PRO said among those from COVAS, who have qualified for the JRF, Rahul Kumar and Renu Chauhan got first and eigth all India rank (SC) respectively. Pallavi Chauhan and Arvind Negi got third and ninth rank (ST) respectively.
Vice-chancellor A K Sarial said, "It will enhance the image of the university at the national level as it has strong indicators of high academic standards in terms of quality education.
