The monsoon session of Himachal Pradesh Assembly is not likely to have 'Zero Hours', in order to ensure the smooth functioning of the House, Speaker B B L Butail said today.
However, all efforts would be made to run the House smoothly with the help of members of both sides and an all party meeting has been convened in this regard on the eve of monsoon session on August 20, Butail said.
On the 'Zero hour', he said no decision has been taken on introducing it so far as it has been experienced that the House did not run smoothly in Assemblies where 'Zero Hour' is in vogue.
The ten-day monsoon session of the Assembly would be held from August 21 to 31. It would have seven sittings, including one private member's day.
The Assembly secretariat has so far received 305 starred and 117 unstarred questions and 50 per cent of the questions have been received online.
Further, several notices and resolutions pertaining to condition of roads, damage to water supply schemes and public and private property due to rains and floods, repercussions of orders of National Green Tribunal, banning diesel and petrol vehicles and other important issues have also been received.
The Speaker also said that the decision on a petition of BJP, seeking disqualification of four independent members under anti-defection would law be taken in due course but did not specify any time limit.
