HP BJP hails SC order in ex-IPS officer's reappointment case
Press Trust of India Shimla Himachal Pradesh BJP today welcomed the Supreme Court order dismissing a plea challenging the High Court order in a case pertaining to re-employing an IPS officer in the force and said the state government was "trying to implicate the opposition leaders in false cases".
The Supreme Court had yesterday dismissed a plea of state government challenging the High Court order that had quashed an FIR lodged against Dhumal and others in a case pertaining to re-employing IPS officer Amar Nath Sharma in the force.
"The SC order should have some sobering effect on the government and it should learn a lesson and instead of pursuing politics of vengeance and vendetta, concentrate on development," State BJP President Satpal Singh Satti and chief spokesman Rajiv Bindal said.
Asserting thatthe apex court had made "adverse" remarks against the government while dismissing the Special Leave Petition, the BJP leaders said, "It is unfortunate that the government wasted over three years and spent lakhs of rupees in framing cases against former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. Now, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh should understand that no conspiracy can triumph over truth."
They further alleged that chief minister was trying to tarnish the image of BJP leaders by implicating them in false cases to divert the attention of the people from corruption and graft charges faced by him.
