Himachal Pradesh BJP which launched a six-day 'padyatra' in the state, today submitted a memorandum to Governor Urmilla Singh, seeking her intervention for expediting work on Rohroo-Theog road.
The 'padyatra' headed by former horticulture minister Narinder Bragata concluded at Sanjauli yesterday and BJP workers later presented the memorandum to the secretary to the Governor today.
The memorandum urged the Governor to direct the state government to constitute a task for expediting the work and set a time limit for completion of the project.
It also urged the Governor to ask the government to complete the metalling and tarring of the five-meter wide road on priority basis and complete the remaining works on routine basis.
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Congress leader Rohit Thakur, who represents the Jubbal and Kotkhai assembly seat, has dubbed the 'padyatra' as "a political drama to divert the attention of the people from core issue of development".
