HP cabinet decides to takeover services of 6,300 teachers

Himachal Pradesh cabinet today decided to takeover the services of 6,300 teachers appointed by Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) on contract basis under the grant-in-aid scheme.
Services of PTA teachers would be further regularised after relaxation of Recruitment and Promotion rules.
The cabinet also gave its approval to regularise services of about 2,100 para-teachers working in elementary and higher education departments on completion of 10 years of continuous service and also decided to provide enhanced honorarium of Rs 8,900 per month to more than 3,500 primary assistant teachers (PAT) working in elementary education department.
It was further decided to release grant-in-aid to those teachers appointed by PTA, who have completed their B.Ed degree after 31st December, 2010.
The cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh decided to submit a memorandum by the state government to the 14th Finance Commission visiting the state next month.
It approved 'Himachal Pradesh Mineral Policy-2013' to regulate mines and minerals in the state and facilitate mining activities under laid down provisions to check illegal and unscientific mining and safeguarding the needs of local people for legal use.
