Inspite of incessant heavy rains the Congress workers turned up in large numbers from all seventeen assembly segments of Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency, the stronghold of BJP and home town of chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.

The Congress has already held Parivartan rallies at Dharamsala, Nahan and Mandi and this was fourth Parliamentry constituency level meeting to be followed by a state level meeting to be addressed by AICC president Sonia Gandhi, ahead of assembly polls slated later this year.

Launching a scathing attack on the chief minister, Virbhadra Singh accused him of doling out precious scarce land of the state to outsiders in the name of industrial and power projects and private universities.

He cautioned people against voting BJP to power again and said that state would be totally ruined if the party returned to power.

"The BJP will be ousted in the polls but we must work hard to bring the party back to power," he told Congress workers.

Chowdhary Barinder Singh said that the days of BJP government in the state are numbered and claimed that the Congress would come back to power.
