DGP Somesh Goyal informed that 93 such check points had been activated and the work of installing CCTVs was on, officials said.
Lists of these barriers were shared with officers from the neighbouring states with the request to augment their deployment on these check points to curb the movement of illegal cash, liquor or other goodies that could be used as inducements to voters.
A special request was made to check the movement of vehicles for weapons and contraband at odd hours during the night, they added.
The meeting was chaired by DGP Goyal and R C Mishra, ADG Haryana, while senior officers from Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand and J and K participated.

The issue of car snatchers at gun point was also discussed and it was decided that more vigil on the border shall be mounted by the neighbouring states, officials said.
Himachal Chief Secretary, VC Pharka, also joined the meeting and briefed the participants about the concerns of the state.
