A 1996-batch IAS officer from the state cadre, Rahul Anand has been serving with the IMF for the last three years and was being issued several notices to join his duty, official sources said.
Anand replied to the notice given by the government but his reply was not found satisfactory and finally the government has recommended his termination.
"We had given final chance to the IAS officer to report back on duty by July 1, failing which we would be left with no other option but to terminate his service," Sudripta Roy, Chief Secretary, told reporters here.
Earlier, some other IAS officers from the state cadre too had quit services for lucrative assignments with international agencies such as the World Bank, the United Nations Development Project (UNDP) and the IMF.
