HP govt to get full support for health, other projects: Centre

The Centre today assured the Himachal Pradesh government of full support for various health-related and other developmental projects in the state.
This was stated after a meeting between Health Minister J P Nadda and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here to discuss healthcare issues in the state.
During the meeting, Singh thanked the Centre for Swan river channelization project and sought Nadda's help for additional funds.
"The minister assured him of all possible support for the development of the state," a senior ministry official said.
Earlier, Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur also met Nadda who gave him the assurance that health sector projects in the state would be expedited and necessary technical and financial support provided.
On upgradation of the two tertiary cancer centres at Shimla and Mandi, it was noted that some reports were pending from the state government.
"It was decided during the meeting that as soon as these reports are submitted, the funds shall be released. In addition, it was also informed that all purchase formalities for operationalizing of Dr Rajender Prasad Super Speciality Hospital at Tanda will be completed by end of December 2015, while the procurement and installation shall be completed in the next 2-3 months," he said.
Nadda directed that a central team be sent to visit the Indira Gandhi Medical College for setting up a trauma centre.
