HP minister thanks Centre for converting aid ratio to 90:10

Himachal Pradesh Urban Development minister Sudhir Sharma today thanked the Centre for converting the centre/state aid ratio for the Dharamsala smart city project to 90:10 from 50:50.
Talking to PTI Sharma said the first installment of Rs 185 crore from Centre have already been received for the Dharamsala smart city project.
He said the matching 10 per cent share of the state shall be released next week.
The Urban Development minister said the Dharamshala Smart City project is worth Rs 2109 crore and would be completed infive years.
He said for implementation of the smart city project "we have set up the SPV named 'Dharamsala Smart City Limited' and Managing Director cum CEO has also been appointed.
The minister informed that "it will be for the first time in the world where underground dustbins shall be installed, which shall have censors to inform the authorities about its filling."

The Smart initiatives already started are smart street lighting - 6000 lights (2500 existing to be replaced plus 3500 new poles) are being changed to LED street lightning system.
He said the state government has also agreed to provide similar street lights to the panchayats surrounding the smart city of Dharamsala, so that smart city be have small panchayats too.
The minister said as per the smart city plan, Dharamsala would have improved roads,24x7 water supply,parks with open air gymnasiums in each ward and four world class swimming pools in Dari area.
Dharamsala will have E-nagarpalika,smart parking, smart street light poles (having wifi, public announcement system, CCTV cameras, digital displays, environment displays, etc at the crowded areas to control traffic and public.
The minister said Project management consultants will conduct feasibility study, prepare DPRs and conduct bidding process for all major projects.
He said "I would request all citizens to ensure whole hearted participation in the project planning, implementation and ownership. We have decided to implement the smart city project through community participation and this would be peoples project in true sense.
