Four Himachal Pradesh ministers today lashed out at Union Health Minister J P Nadda for demanding resignation of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, and described his statement as "part of pressure tactics of the BJP to destabilise the democratically-elected,popular Congress government".
In a strongly-worded statement, the ministers -- Vidya Stokes, Sudhir Sharma, Prakash Chaudhary and Karan Singh -- said that some ministers at the Centre were misusing and pressurising central investigating agencies against Virbhadra Singh at the behest of state BJP leaders.
"It was strange that three different central agencies had been engaged to look into the income tax matter of the chief minister and an impression was being created as if there were a number of cases going on against him," the statement said.
They said that raids of CBI and Enforcement Directorate on premises of the Chief Minister on the day of marriage of his daughter were "vindictive and politically motivated".
The ministers said that it seems that Nadda was raking up the issue to remain active in the state politics and also please his political 'friends' at the Centre and in the state.
"If Nadda is actually concerned about corruption, why he is mum on the serious corruption charges against a few Chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and ministers in the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.

"Is it not political hypocrisy of Nadda that he has not uttered even a single word on Vyapam scam and alleged involvement of the Rajasthan Chief Minister and the External Affairs Minister in 'Lalitgate issue' wherein crores of rupees are involved," they questioned.
Asserting that Virbhadra Singh was one of the most popular Congress leaders in the country and heading a stable Congress Government in the State, the ministers advised Nadda to teach morality to his own leaders in the state BJP who were facing serious charges of corruption such as HPCA scam.
"These leaders are now feeling the heat of inquiry ordered by the state government into their alleged benami land deals in and outside the state and trying to divert the attention of the people by making fabricated and false cases against Singh," the statement said.
Nadda had yesterday demanded that Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Singh resignes over corruption charges against him and questioned the "silence" of top Congress leadership on the issue.
