The mid and lower hills of Himachal Pradesh, including its capital Shimla, witnessed thunderstorm and squall, accompanied by intermittent showers, for the second consecutive day today.
Scattered rains occurred in some parts of the state and Aghar was wettest with 23 mm of rains, followed by Sundernagar 11 mm, Paonta Sahib 10 mm, Pachhad 9 mm, Kahu and Kasauli both 7 mm, Palampur 6 mm and Dharampur, Jhandutta, and Berthin 5 mm each.
Keylong recorded a low of 3.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Kalpa 6 degrees Celsius, Manali 6.2 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 11.2 degrees Celsius, Shimla 13.2 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 13.6 degrees Celsius, Nahan 14.5 degrees Celsius, Palampur 16.5 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 18.6 degrees Celsius and Una 18.8 degrees Celsius.
Una was hottest in the region with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar 33.6 degrees Celsius, Nahan 32.2 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 31.5 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 30.4 degrees Celsius, Solan 29 degrees Celsius, Shimla 24.1 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 22 degrees Celsius and Keylong 18.6 degrees Celsius.
The weatherman has predicted rains and thundershowers at isolated places in the mid hills and rains or snow in the higher hills next six days from tomorrow.
