Himachal Youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh today accused BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal of levelling baseless allegations against Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to save his political leadership.
He said that the BJP's old tactics of dividing people on the lines of region and caste has ceased to work.
Addressing a press conference here today he said, the BJP leaders were running a false propaganda of 'mafia raj' against the Virbhadra Singh government.
Comparing the crime data, he said, in 2016, 1229 cases were registered under NDPS act as against 374 cases in 2008 under the BJP regime, which shows the commitment of the state government to fight drug menace.
He said drug abuse related laws have been amended and provision for stringent punishment had been made. Four medicines, commonly used as drugs, have been banned and 22 additional posts of drug inspectors and three posts of assistant drug controller had been sanctioned.
Asserting that Himachal Pradesh Beverages Corporation was set to bring transparency and stop black marketing of liquor in the border areas, Singh said "such corporations had already been established in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi and Chhattisgarh and the Corporation had earned profit of Rs 450 crore.
He said the Youth Congress, would take out rallies from tomorrow, to counter the BJP's "Mafia Raj Hatao, Himachal Bachao" campaign and the first rally would be organised in Sarkaghat tomorrow.
Endorsing the decision of the government to declare Dharamshala as second capital, he said the move would ensure cultural and emotional integration but the administration would not be shifted.
