Hrushikesh Senapaty joins as new NCERT Director

Senior academic Hrushikesh Senapaty is the new NCERT Director.
Senapaty joined today as the Director of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), a statement released here by Human Resource Development Ministry said.
He was previously heading the Regional Institute of Education (RIE) in Bhopal.
An alumnus of BJB College in Bhubaneswar and Devi Ahilya Bai University, Senapaty had joined RIE (Bhopal), a constituent unit of the NCERT, in 1997 as Associate Professor.
Subsequently, he worked with RIE in Bhubaneswar as professor, before coming back to Bhopal as Principal of the RIE there in 2012.
His area of specialization has been Teacher Education and Information, and Communications Technology in Education (ICTE). He is also a UNESCO expert on ICTE from India.
In addition to many areas concerning school education, he has also worked on integration of ICT into 'Constructivist Theory of Learning' to bring a paradigm shift in the teacher education practices, the statement said.
