The Haryana Assembly passed 15 Bills on the concluding day of its budget session here today.
Among the Bills which were passed include Haryana State Higher Education Council Bill, 2018.
The Bill was passed to promote academic excellence and social justice by obtaining academic input for policy formulation and perspective planning, ensuring autonomy and greater accountability of all institution of higher education in accordance with the socio-economic requirements of the state as per the requirement of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan, the House was informed.
University of Health Sciences, Karnal (Amendment) Bill, 2018 was passed to change the name of the university from University of Health Sciences, Karnal to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayaya, University of Health Sciences, Karnal.
The state Assembly also passed the Haryana Municipal Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Repeal Bill, 2018 to repeal the Haryana Municipal Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014.
Haryana Urban Development Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2018 was passed for adopting the Hindi version of Haryana Urban Development Authority as 'Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran' in both English and Hindi.
Haryana Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran Bill, 2018 was passed to establish the Haryana Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran to formulate and undertake a humanistic and holistic welfare based approach to address the difficulty faced by the farmers of the state and to provide relief to distressed farmers in varying and challenging situations.
