Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar said on the occasion of Rahul Gandhi's birthday tomorrow, the party would launch a campaign in the state to garner support from each household in view of the general elections and Assembly polls next year.
"Tomorrow is Rahul ji's birthday. We will hold blood donation camps, marathons and other events. From tomorrow, we will also start the 'Congress Ghar Ghar' campaign, where we intend to garner support from each household in Haryana," he told reporters here.
"Through this programme, we will highlight the unfulfilled promises of the ruling BJP, which was mentioned in their poll manifesto," Tanwar said and alleged that the BJP governments, both at the Centre and in the state have failed on all fronts.
He also said that the third phase of his 'Haryana Bachao Parivartan Lao Cycle Yatra', will commence from Garhi Kiloi Sampla to Kalanaur.
"This Cycle Yatra, which will be of four days (July 19-22) in the third phase. It will pass via Chief Minister M L Khattar's village Banyani in Rohtak district," the Haryana Congress chief said.
Retired Haryana bureaucrat Pradeep Kasni, who recently joined the Congress, was present at the press conference with Tanwar. The state congress chief formally welcomed Kasni and a former student leader, Pradeep Narwal, into the party's fold.
Kasni told reporters that he joined the Congress without any pre-condition and would work to strengthen the party.
