"It is aimed at generating awareness about Central and State Government programmes and schemes in the context of women's empowerment and mobilise the community to create demand and avail such services," Haryana Minister Kavita Jain was quoted as saying by an official release here today.
The revised VCFS scheme would be implemented in those districts where 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' scheme was already being implemented, the state Women and Child Development Minister said.
The 12 districts include Mahendergarh, Jhajjar, Sonepat, Rewari, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Bhiwani and Panipat.
The VCFS scheme of National Mission for Empowerment of Women (NMEW) has been revised for continuation during the 12th Five Year Plan period with 100 per cent Central funding, Jain said.
The scheme also aims at undertaking household visits to spread awareness about government schemes, programmes and service, motivate people to join various programmes meant for their welfare and help in improving access, the minister said.
