He said the government received Rs 2,232.20 crore of tax arrears from Panipat alone under the scheme.
"Out of the total arrears, the refinery of the Indian Oil Corporation alone accounted for Rs 2,230.98 crore and remaining Rs 1.22 crore was received from dealers in Panipat," the Finance, Excise and Taxation Minister said in a release.
He said in districts Gurugram and Sonepat, more than Rs 45.75 crore and Rs 10.77 crore were recovered from 359 and 137 dealers, respectively.
Likewise, recoveries were also made from dealers in Jhajjar, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Panchkula, Rewari, Palwal, Nuh, Rohtak and Yamunanagar.

The minister said the settlement scheme was launched on June 22 to minimise litigation, reduce the burden of defaulters and mop up dues under various Acts administered by the Excise and Taxation Department.
In cases of suppression of tax or attempt to evade tax, one can get 50 per cent waiver of penalty, he added.
