Gurgaon MLA Umesh Agarwal said a new body Greater Gurugram Urban Transport Service Ltd (GGUTSL) has been constituted for this purpose and it would be given the responsibility to operate these buses aiming to provide "convenient, easy and effective mode of public transport facility to city residents and commuters".
Financial and investment support will be provided by Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) with 51 per cent share, while rest of the cost will be provided by the Haryana government, he said.
45 per cent buses will be of AC category and remaining under non-AC category, he said.
He said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will formally announce this initiative during the golden jubilee celebration program scheduled on November 1.
Currently, 120 AC and non-AC buses of Haryana roadways operate in the city.
