The Haryana Government Tuesday decided to introduce the 'Pashu Sanjeevni Sewa' scheme under which free of cost, quality healthcare services would be made available to livestock in the state through mobile veterinary clinics.
The service will be first started in all the blocks of Jind, Yamunanagar and Nuh districts, officials said. Based on the success of the pilot run, the scheme would be replicated in other districts.
A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting of the animal husbandry and dairy department, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here, an official release said.
"The mobile veterinary services would be started in staff-deficient and remote areas of the state in public private partnership (PPP) mode. The scheme would not only help in providing prompt emergency veterinary services to the livestock but also keep a check on the activities of quacks," the release said.
The livestock farmers would be able to avail the services of the mobile veterinary clinics round-the-clock.
One mobile vehicle would be pressed into service in each block of these three districts, the release said.
Each mobile vehicle would have a three-member team comprising a veterinary doctor, one para vet and one helper-cum-driver.
