The BJP-led Haryana government has decided to launch 'Gram Swaraj Abhiyan', an outreach campaign, in the state on the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar on April 14, which will continue till May 5.
A meeting regarding preparations of the 'Abhiyan' was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary D S Dhesi here today, an official statement said.
The objective of the 'Abhiyan' is to promote social harmony, reach out to poor rural households, obtain feedback on ongoing programmes, enrol in new initiatives, focus on doubling farmers' income, enhance livelihood opportunities and re-emphasise national priorities such as cleanliness and strengthen Panchayati Raj institutions, it said.
It was discussed in the meeting that under the 'Gram Swaraj Abhiyan', 'Samajik Nyaya Diwas' would be celebrated on April 14.
Apart from this, 'Swachh Bharat Diwas' would be celebrated on April 18 and 'Ujjwala Diwas' on April 20.
Similarly, 'Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Diwas' would be celebrated on April 24, the release said.

'Gram Swaraj Divas' would be celebrated on April 28, 'Ayushmaan Bharat Diwas' on April 30, 'Kisan Kalyaan Diwas' on May 2 and 'Aajeevika Diwas' on May 5, it added.
The speaker, deputy speaker of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, the chief minister, ministers and MLAs would be chief guests in the functions to be organised on the occasion of Dr B R Ambedkar's birth anniversary in each district of the state, the statement said.
The chief secretary directed the officers to ensure effective implementation of all activities to be carried out across the state during the campaign.
