The Haryana government has decided to grant interest-free festival advance of Rs 6,000 to all its class-IV employees, state Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said here today.
The advance would be given to permanent and temporary Class IV employees. Ad hoc employees, who had been in service for the last one year and are likely to continue it for another four months, will get the advance on furnishing surety from a permanent government employee, he said.
The amount would be recovered in four monthly installments from the pay of the employees before the close of the current financial year, the minister said.
Abhimanyu said all Head of Departments have been directed to ensure that the advance be drawn and disbursed on or before October 18.
He, however, clarified that the advance would not be admissible to work charged, contingent paid staff and daily wagers.
Also, the advance should not be granted by parent departments to class-IV employees who are on deputation to other government, corporations and local bodies, Abhimanyu said, adding if both the husband and wife are employed, the advance would be allowed to only one of them.
