The Haryana government will organise a state-level function in Jhajjar district on September 29 to observe "Surgical Strike Day".
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be the chief guest at the function, an official spokesperson said here Thursday.
"It is a moment of pride, especially for Haryana, as every 10th soldier serving in the Indian Army belongs to the state. Thus, various programmes would be organised at all district headquarters of the state to commemorate this important day," he said.
On September 29 in 2016, the Indian Army carried out "surgical strikes" on seven terrorist launchpads across the LoC as a response to an attack on its base in Uri earlier that month. The Indian Army had said its special forces inflicted "significant casualties" on terrorists waiting there to cross onto the Indian territory.
