It's the age of millennials - a new generation of
employees who will account for 75% of the workforce by 2025 and research shows that they are not motivated only by money. They are attracted to employers who can offer more than merely good salaries; a culture beyond just increments.
The 40th Hindustan Times Shine HR Conclave - Gurgaon Edition poses the following questions to HR leaders:
- What offerings are required to be made to keep this dynamic race of millennials -motivated and engaged - apart from increments?
- Are we sure that the good old tools of employee benefits have been leveraged properly and successfully implemented?
- Is it the time to re-define these benefits to make it more meaningful for the millenials than what has been traditionally offered?
In a survey report by PwC, the millennials' desire to learn and progress is apparent in their view of the benefits offered by employers. They have valued - training and development, healthcare and wellness programs, maternity/paternity benefits, loans/borrowing options, child care, greater vacation allowances, rewarding pension and retirement funding programs, flexible working opportunities - over mere financial benefits.
