"Honor, Huawei's e-brand...has started manufacturing of Honor 7X in partnership with Flex, at Flex's plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai," Huawei said in a statement.
Huawei Honor started manufacturing in partnership with Flex India in September 2016 and started with Holly 3, which was its first phone under the 'Make in India' initiative.
It later starting making Honor 6X model. Honor 7X, launched in December 2017, recorded three times more sales than previous version of the smartphone Honor 6X.
"Honor and Huawei will keep evaluating the demands for the product in India and will keep trying to up the ante for indigenous production and localisation. The production of the bestseller Honor 7X is another milestone for us," said P Sanjeev, Vice-President, Sales, Huawei Consumer Business Group said in a statement.

As per latest counterproint research report, Huawei is among top three smartphone brand, after Xiaomi and iTel, to have registered highest growth in India during 2017.
"Honor saw a 3 times growth in fourth quarter of 2017 as compared to fourth quarter of 2016, owing to the success of Honor 7X, which has been touted as the bestseller in the category despite the volatility of the smartphone industry," Huawei statement said.
