After receiving information about smuggling along the International Border, jawans were alerted and asked to maintain strict vigil in the area, Inspector General of BSF (Punjab Frontier) Anil Paliwal.
The BSF personnel seized one AK 47 rifle, two AK-47 magazine and 52 rounds of ammunition from a field from near a border outpost in Firozpur sector during patrolling this afternoon, he said.
Palilwal said the BSF has seized 15 arms, 21 magazines and 271 rounds of ammunition along the Indo-Pak border this year so far.
