HUL shares end nearly 1% up after Q4 results

Shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) ended nearly 1 per cent higher, a day after the company reported 14.2 per cent increase in standalone net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31.

The stock gained 0.73 per cent to end at Rs 1,516 on BSE. Intra-day, it rose by 2.54 per cent to Rs 1,543.25 -- its 52-week high.

At NSE, shares of the company went up by 0.79 per cent to close at Rs 1,515.50.

In terms of equity volume, 1.21 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 32 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day.

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) yesterday reported 14.2 per cent increase in standalone net profit to Rs 1,351 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, driven by a strong double digit volume growth.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,183 crore in January-March period a year ago, HUL said in a BSE filing.

HUL's net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 9,003 crore compared to Rs 8,773 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal, it added.
