Hulkenberg gets season-best 4th position on grid, Perez 7th
Press Trust of India Silverstone (UK) Nico Hulkenberg scorched his way to season-best fourth position on the grid for Sahara Force India's 'home' race while Sergio Perez secured a P7 for tomorrow's British Grand Prix, here.
Hulkenberg, who has scored points in all the races this season so far, set his fastest lap in Q3 with a timing of 1:38.329, which was marginally behind third-placed Jenson Button (1:38.200).
Perez, who secured team's first podium of the season at Bahrain from P4, timed 1:40.457 to be ahead of Canadian Grand Prix winner Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull.
Force India (87) are going into the home race with just a two-point lead over Williams and have to great opportunity to extend it further since both Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa faded in Q1.
Since Ferrari had a troubled qualifying session today, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen are languishing at number 19 and 20 respectively on the grid, which gives Force India a chance to topple the Italian heavyweights from the third position. Only 11 points separate the two teams.
